About Resume

You need to complete your resume because:

A complete resume contains the information required by employers to consider your job application. That is why it is so important that you provide as much details about yourself and your work in your resume to improve your chances of getting a positive response from employers.
You must complete your resume in order to apply for jobs.
You will also get more accurate job matches if your resume is complete, as the extra information in your resume will be used to match jobs to you more accurately.

All the information in your MyJobStreet account or My Resume section can be edited at any time.

How do I update my resume?

Your resume must:
To upload your resume:
Go to the section you want to edit. Click on the 'Edit' link.
Click 'Save' to save your changes.

To complete your Resume

Log into your MyJobStreet account.
Go to 'MyResume' and select 'Update Resume' section.
Go to the section marked with a red 'X'. Complete the required fields.
Click 'Save' to save your changes.

You must fill in all these details:

Contact Details
This section let employers know how you can be contacted. You must provide a valid email address in order for JobStreet.com and employers to contact you. Always keep your contact information up-to-date so that you can be reached if you are short-listed for a job interview.
Personal Particulars
This section will provide employers with a brief introduction about you.
Qualification
Fill in your most recent and highest qualification obtained. The second highest qualification is optional. If you did not complete your education or are currently still pursuing your studies, choose "Incomplete" as your grade and enter your expected graduation date. Also, you can enter any certifications that you have earned under the "Professional Certifications" section.
Experience
Fill in your work experience. If you are a fresh graduate looking for your first job, choose "I am a fresh graduate seeking my first job". If you are a student, choose "I am a student seeking internship or part-time jobs".
Text Resume / Additional Info
Copy and paste your resume here or fill in any additional information about yourself, e.g. specific skills, projects, achievements etc.

Do I have to fill up all the forms and fields?

There are compulsory fields and optional ones. Compulsory fields are marked with '*'. You must fill in the compulsory fields. If you fail to do so, your form will not be processed and the system will prompt you back to those fields. As for optional fields, we strongly recommend you to provide the information so that your Resume will be more complete.

Why can't I access certain sections/pages in MyJobStreet?

The reason could be due to the version of the web browser you are using. To fully access the features, we recommend that you use Internet Explorer (version 6 and above) or Firefox (version 1.5 and above) or any other compatible browser with JavaScript support. You should also turn on the option to accept Cookies so as to enjoy a more personalised service.

How do I upload my photograph into MyResume?

You may upload your photograph under 'My Resume' - 'Update Resume' section. Follow the steps below:

Scan your passport size photograph (or any other photograph, with the dimension of about 110 pixel wide and 150 pixel high.)
Save the photograph in JPEG, JPG or GIF or PNG format, ensure that the file size do not exceed 15Kbytes.
Go to 'My Resume' - 'Update Resume' section. Click on the 'Add Photo' link.
A popup window will ask for the filename of your photograph. Enter the path and filename of your photograph or click the 'Browse' button to locate it, and then click on the 'Upload' button.
Click on 'Close window'. You will now see your photograph in the page.

Why did I get an error when uploading photo to MyResume?

Please check whether your photograph meets the below requirement:

File size must not exceed 15Kbytes.
Photograph must be in JPG/JPEG or GIF or PNG format only. You can use most graphic software to convert and save your photograph in these formats. The extension of your file should then be .gif or .jpg or .png, for example: myphoto.gif or myphoto.jpg or myphoto.png
Ideal dimension to save your photograph is 110 x 150 pixels.

If I do not have any work experience, can I still complete MyResume?

Yes, but you have to indicate you are a fresh graduate in 'My Resume' - 'Experience' section.

Is MyResume searchable by employers?

To allow employers to search your resume, you have to activate this function. There are two types of activation:

Searchable with Contact Details (Employers will see your FULL resume)
Searchable with Hidden Contact Details (Your name/contact details will be hidden from the employers)

If an employer is interested in you, they will send email requests through LiNa to invite you (or they may call you directly if your resume is activated with your name/contact details) to apply to their jobs. You can then decide to apply or reject the request. Since you have already been pre-qualified, your chance of getting an interview will be higher. You can view, deactivate or re-activate your searchable resume anytime.

How do I activate searching by employers?

Go to 'My Resume' - 'Update Resume' section. In the 'Resume Privacy Setting' section, select the privacy level which you are most comfortable with.

What is the difference between 'Searchable with Contact Details' and 'Searchable with Hidden Contact Details'?

Searchable with Contact Details: Employer will see ALL the information you enter in your resume. This activation mode is normally used by jobseekers who are actively searching for a job as it will be easier for the employer to contact them.
Searchable with Hidden Contact Details: Your name/contact details will be hidden from the view of the employer.

Is it safe to activate searching of MyResume to employers?

Yes, it is SAFE. Only employers registered with JobStreet.com can search for the searchable version of your Resume. If you had activated your Searchable Resume without including your name/contact details, the employers will not see your identification information in this Resume until you had applied to their jobs. You can view your Searchable Resume to check that no confidential information is revealed before activating it. If you had chosen to include your name/contact details in your Searchable Resume, the employers will see your identification information. You would normally want to include the name/contact details if you are an active jobseeker so it's easier for the employer to contact you.

Can I update my information in my searchable resume? How do I deactivate?

Log into your MyJobStreet account
Go to 'My Resume' and select 'Update Resume'.
In the 'Resume Privacy Setting', you can deactivate or re-activate your Searchable Resume.

What is Resume Requests?

This is only relevant if you have activated your Resume for employers to search. Resume requests are requests by employers who have viewed your Searchable Resume and are inviting you to apply for their jobs because they think there is a good fit between your profile and their jobs.

What is the difference between job alert emails from LiNa and Resume Request emails?

For LiNa job alerts, JobStreet.com matches you with the job requirements without the employer viewing your resume. For Resume Request emails, the employer has seen your Searchable Resume, and since you have been pre-qualified, the chances of getting an interview are higher.

How do I check for the requests from the employers?

You will get an email request from employers through LiNa. You may view more details about the job and apply to it directly by following the steps below:

Log into your account.
Click on 'My Applications' and select 'Resume Requests'.
Click on the position title to view more details, or click on 'Apply' to submit your job application.
